An Amazing Fact: Completed October 2009 in the United Arab Emirates, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest manmade structure ever built. Because the building is more than a half-mile high and weighs half-a-million tons, the foundation itself has to be enormously strong. Reinforced with 55,000 tons of steel rebar, the massive foundation is buried more than 164 feet in the ground. The Burj Khalifa’s foundation is specially designed to sustain the colossal structure through hurricane winds, blistering sun, and seismic activity.

Jesus tells us there is a fierce storm coming and only those who root their lives deep in the solid foundation of His Word will survive (Luke 6:47, 48).

The story of Alyssa is a prime example of how crucial it is to have a deep and strong spiritual foundation from youth.

It began with seemingly “innocent” exposure to some secular movies—but soon Alyssa was being led into a dangerous obsession with the occult. I won’t go into all the disturbing details of her story, but here are a few highlights in her own words …

“I was praying to the devil and looking to him for guidance; I put red streaks in my hair, had very dark thoughts, and watched dark things. My words were dark and not pleasant. I was going down the tube. I would laugh in church if I went.”

Satan had blinded her. Under the enemy’s influence, she scoffed at church and felt she had more in common with Satan than God. In fact, when she was invited to act in a play, Alyssa chose the part of Satan so she could live out her fantasies!

Thankfully, her story doesn’t end there.

In November 2008, her parents’ church hosted the Amazing Adventure children’s program produced by Amazing Facts. This incredible outreach event possibly saved Alyssa’s life! She read one of our children’s Bible guides about how the devil works to deceive souls, and her eyes were opened to the dangerous situation she had gotten herself into.

“I started crying and felt that God was telling me something, so I threw out the bad DVDs. It felt like a huge weight was taken off of me. It was AMAZING!”

God used this ministry, through the support of friends like you, to show this impressionable mind the importance of having Jesus as her spiritual foundation!

Her story serves as a warning to all of us. If you want the young people in your life to soar to great heights for God’s kingdom, they first need a deep, spiritual foundation.

So I’m asking you to help provide that foundation to them through our Most Important Questions (MIQ) youth evangelism and revival series coming this fall.

The Big Questions
Beginning in just six weeks, October 8–16, Amazing Facts will air the live MIQ satellite event. This one-of-a-kind, 10-part series will be broadcast before a live audience of teens. We’ll be asking—and answering—many of life’s most important questions, such as:

• Is there a God?
• Is evolution true?
• Can I trust the Bible?
• Can I know the future?
• Can I live forever?
• Do movies & music matter?
• What about sex & dating?
• How do I handle peer pressure?
• Where does church fit in?
• What is God’s plan for my life?

Profound questions like these are important to teenagers. And having the right answers can provide them a foundation that will last a lifetime. I’m sure you remember asking these same questions when you were younger … I sure did!

Foundations Come First
It’s a lot easier to get a foundation right in the beginning. I can imagine how much of the heartache I could have avoided—if from an early age I had Christ front and center in my life.

But today’s Christian kids have been so bombarded by the values of the world that it is sometimes hard to tell the difference between them and non-believers. Their faith is resting on a cracking foundations! If we keep allowing their most important questions to be answered by popular TV programs, books, and movies, our young people will certainly be deceived just as Alyssa was.

And having the wrong answers at this crucial time in their lives can throw them off track for years … sometimes forever! “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3).

The MIQ Plan
MIQ will be broadcast during primetime on 3ABN and the Inspiration Network, so we will get a huge television audience, as well as becoming a great resource for Bible teaching on the internet and DVD. (The Inspiration Network will broadcast MIQ in primetime. It's a huge development that we have to take advantage of!)

We are also creating a totally new 10-part Bible study workbook for teens that can be used in connection with the MIQ event and for years to come. It is a perfect way to reinforce each concept and will have your teens digging deeper than ever about who they want to be.

Christian high schools and academies around the country can participate in the live MIQ broadcast or record it for use during their week of prayer programs.

In addition, we’ve put together a wonderful website, videos on YouTube, a Facebook page, and a Twitter account to involve young people in this exciting event. (See more about our website below!)

Amazing Facts is boldly answering God’s call to teach this generation of youth the uncompromised truth. We are moving forward with MIQ in faith to reach as many young people as possible in the most direct way we can.

An Army of Youth
Today’s generation of young people have more opportunity to take the gospel to the ends of the earth than any other people group in history. But there has also never been a generation that has been so bombarded by the devil with worldly distractions to keep them living on a superficial level.

Only together can we help change that!

So I’m appealing to you on behalf of today’s young people. There is no better time than now to help teens become grounded in the faith. When the foundation of Jesus Christ is set firmly in place in their lives, our teens will soar to great heights by the grace of God!

The total investment to make this youth evangelism happen is $322,000. This will help pay for the TV production and broadcasting, advertising, website development, and the publication of the new MIQ Bible studies.
